Course Information – Boat and Jetski Licence

1. The licence course will follow Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) Boatsafe approved on line maritime theory training
2. The desired outcome is for everyone to achieve competency, to do this a theory component as well as a practical component are required to be passed.
3. Every opportunity will be given to allow students to achieve the outcomes.
4. Complete the online theory training before booking in for the practical training and theory assessment
5. Once practical training and theory assessment are completed a final practical assessment will take place.
6. This will entail driving the vessel to show your ability to manoeuvre the vessel through the required learned tasks without trainer assistance.
7. The instructor will ask you to perform a required task then once completed will ask you to complete the next task and so on until all components of the assessment are completed
8. If successful a certificate on competency will be provided. If unsuccessful retraining will be required and another final assessment will need to be done on a different day.
9. The retraining and assessment will incur a fee.
10. If the weather is not in our favour on the day training and assessments can be changed to another day to suit the conditions.
11. The WEB site gives information and links to a number of marine relevant bodies to assist the student, i.e. MSQ, BOM, downloads, Tides etc.

Aussie, highly reccomends practising driving a boat or Jetski prior to attending training, to make it easier to obtain a boat license, boat licence depending on your spelling preference. This is also true for obtaining your personal watercraft or Jetski, Jet Ski  licence. How you get a boaters licence in Qld. The boat license training is done on the day and Aussie will work hard to make sure you are comfortable doing the necessary manoeuvres with practice done at Jacobs Well with your licence for boat training session. Boat Safe Qld administers the assessment requirements and Aussie boat and jetski work to ensure that students have the best chance to meet those requirements. Practice for the boat test and practice for the theory is done at Jacobs Well in our training vessel and training rooms.  
For Brisbane boat licence students, we are a short 40minute trip south down the M1 from Brisbane exiting at the Exit38 state route 96 to Jacobs Well. 
For Logan, Marberg, Willowbank boating students travelling from the general western Toowomba region follow the Warrego highway A2 to the beenleigh merge to the M1 and take the same exit 38 to Jacobs Well.
For northern Gold Coast boating students  take the M1 north to exit 49 and follow the sign to Jacobs Well.
Coomera boat licence students   have a short 12minute trip along Kelkin road then right onto pimpana jacobs well road and follow the signs.
Calypso bay boating students can walk or drive 5 minutes along Harbour boulevard to Jacobs Well. 
Boat (RMDL) and Personal Watercraft classes start at 7am in our classroom in the Esplanade Jacobs Well.
